DArt Apps ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, and protected when you use the Gallery - Photo Video, Album mobile application (the "App"), package name: com.photo.album.photoeditor.photo.vault.gallery.app.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect or process the following categories of information:
A. Information Processed on Your Device
- Photos, videos, and other media files that you choose to browse, organize, share, edit, hide, favorite, or delete through the App (accessed via Android media and storage permissions)
- Album, folder, favorites, hidden, recycle bin, and related organization metadata created by your use of the App
- EXIF metadata (including location tags when present on media files) used for features such as Photos on Map
- Optional face-grouping signatures and person labels generated on your device when you enable People / face grouping
- App lock PIN or biometric unlock settings you enable (stored on your device)
- App preferences such as language, theme/dark mode, slideshow, video playback, and navigation settings
- Support messages you choose to send by email or through a support link
B. Automatically Collected Information
- Device type, operating system version, app version, and language
- Advertising ID (AAID/GAID) where ads are enabled and permitted by your device settings
- IP address and general network/connectivity information
- App performance, diagnostic, and crash data
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) when advertisements are shown
- Purchase / Premium (ad-free) status through Google Play Billing
C. Location Information (Feature-Dependent)
- Approximate or precise device location when you use the Photos on Map feature and grant location permission
- Media location (ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION) to read GPS tags embedded in photo EXIF data for map markers
D. Information We Do NOT Intentionally Collect
- We do not require account registration or login to use the App
- We do not operate a cloud photo library or upload your full gallery to our servers
- We do not intentionally collect government ID numbers, bank account numbers, or payment card details inside the App (payments are handled by Google Play)
3. Permissions We Request and Why
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO (Android 13+): Display and manage your photos, videos, and related media
- READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED (Android 14+): Support partial photo/video access when you choose selected items
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (legacy Android versions): Access and manage media on older devices
- ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION: Read location tags from media for map and trip-related features
- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Show your position and photo locations on the map when you use that feature
- USE_BIOMETRIC: Optional fingerprint / face unlock for App Lock and Hidden Folder Lock
- INTERNET: Ads, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, billing-related communication, maps tiles, and opening support / policy links
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Check connectivity before online features
- AD_ID: Serve and measure advertisements where permitted
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Deliver app notifications on Android 13+ where the App shows notifications
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE / RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Support background tasks such as duplicate scanning and related workers
- VIBRATE: Haptic feedback (for example passcode error feedback)
You can deny or revoke optional permissions in your device settings. Some features (gallery browsing, map, biometric unlock, or notifications) may not work without the related permission.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Display, organize, search, and manage your photos and videos in Library and Albums
- Provide utilities such as Hidden Folder (private vault), Recently Deleted, Duplicates, Large Files, Favorites, Collage, Slideshow, Wallpaper, and Media Viewer
- Show photo locations on Google Maps when you use the Map feature
- Perform optional on-device face detection and grouping when you enable People
- Apply App Lock / Hidden Folder Lock security features you enable
- Fetch ads and app configuration (including Remote Config)
- Display advertisements for free users (subject to configuration and Premium status)
- Process optional one-time Premium (ad-free) purchases through Google Play
- Improve app stability, performance, and user experience
- Detect crashes, diagnose errors, and help prevent abuse or fraud
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Photos, Vault, Face Grouping, and Local Processing
- Your photos and videos remain on your device (and in folders you authorize). The App reads media through Android system APIs to present the gallery experience.
- The Hidden Folder / private vault uses on-device storage (including Storage Access Framework folder selection such as Download/DArtGalleryPhotoVault) and local encryption-related handling for vault references. Vault content is not uploaded to DArt Apps servers.
- Face grouping uses on-device ML Kit Face Detection. Face-related processing is intended to run locally on your device for organizing People albums.
- Map features may send map-related requests to Google Maps services and may use EXIF GPS tags or device location with your permission. We do not sell your photo library.
6. Data Storage and Security
Most gallery organization data, preferences, lock settings, vault metadata, recycle bin state, and related app data are stored locally on your device (for example SharedPreferences / AppPreference storage and local databases such as Room where used).
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to help protect information processed by the App, including:
- Local on-device storage for gallery organization and preferences
- Optional PIN and biometric app / vault locks
- Encrypted communication (HTTPS) for analytics, ads, remote configuration, and other online services
- Local handling of private vault content on your device
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, screen lock, and any PIN or biometric settings secure.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal photo library.
We may share limited information with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the App, only as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including advertising, analytics, crash reporting, maps, billing, and app configuration.
When you use Share, system share sheets, or similar features, content you choose to share is handled by the destination app or service you select under that third party's terms.
8. Third-Party Services
Our App may use trusted third-party services including:
- Google Play Services
- Google AdMob
- Meta Audience Network (Facebook Ads)
- Firebase Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase Remote Config
- Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Google Maps
- Google ML Kit (on-device face detection)
- Google Play Billing
These services may process limited technical, diagnostic, advertising, map, or billing-related information according to their own privacy policies.
9. Advertising and Analytics
The App may display advertisements (including banner, native, interstitial, rewarded, and app open formats) when ads are enabled and you are not a Premium (ad-free) user. Advertising partners may use advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads, subject to your device settings and applicable law.
Analytics and crash reporting help us understand aggregate usage, identify bugs, and improve stability. Analytics data is aggregated or anonymized where practicable.
10. Premium Purchases
If you purchase the one-time Premium (ad-free) product through Google Play, payment processing is handled by Google. Purchase status may be verified through Google Play Billing to remove ads. We do not receive your full payment card details.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Gallery media files generally remain on your device until you delete them in the App, through your device's file/gallery tools, or by other means you choose. Recently Deleted items may be retained temporarily (for example up to about 30 days) before permanent removal, depending on App behavior.
App preferences, organization metadata, vault configuration, and lock settings remain until you clear app storage or uninstall the App.
Anonymous technical information processed by third-party services may be retained according to those providers' policies.
You can delete or reduce data by:
- Deleting media, emptying Recently Deleted, or clearing vault content in the App (where available)
- Clearing app storage from Android settings
- Uninstalling the App
- Revoking optional permissions from device settings
- Contacting us if you need help with a privacy request
12. Children's Privacy
This App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
13. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your region, you may have the right to:
- Access information associated with your use of the App
- Delete app data stored on your device
- Disable notifications
- Opt out of personalized advertising through your device advertising settings
- Withdraw optional permissions at any time
- Contact us regarding privacy concerns
14. GDPR & CCPA Rights
Depending on your region, you may have additional privacy rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws, including the right to access, request deletion, restrict processing, and withdraw consent where applicable. We do not sell personal information as defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
15. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a security incident affecting information we control, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate harm, and notify affected users or regulators where required by law.
