DArt Apps ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, and protected when you use the Quantio: AI Object Counter mobile application (the "App"), package name: com.count.ai.scan.objectcount.counter.app.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect or process the following categories of information:
A. Information You Provide or Create in the App
- Photos you capture with the camera or import from your gallery for object detection and counting
- Selected object/category models and related scan settings
- Scan history details stored on your device (object name, category, count, confidence, detection metadata, and result images)
- Favorites and recently used models
- App preferences such as language, theme, and optional biometric lock settings
- Support messages you choose to send by email or through a support link
B. Automatically Collected Information
- Device identifiers such as Android Advertising ID (where ads are enabled and permitted) and a device ID used for app configuration requests (Android ID)
- Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and package name
- IP address and general network/connectivity information
- App performance, diagnostic, and crash data
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) when advertisements are shown
- Purchase and credit/subscription status through Google Play Billing
- Push notification delivery data when notifications are enabled
C. Information Processed for AI Counting
- When on-device detection is used (for example, Google ML Kit), images may be processed locally on your device.
- When cloud AI counting is enabled by app configuration, images (or image data derived from them) and related prompts may be sent to third-party AI providers such as Google Gemini or OpenAI to generate object counts and detection results.
- Please avoid capturing or uploading images that contain sensitive personal information you do not want processed.
D. Information We Do NOT Intentionally Collect
- We do not require account registration to use the App
- We do not knowingly collect precise GPS location
- We do not intentionally collect government ID numbers, bank account numbers, or payment card details inside the App (payments are handled by Google Play)
3. Permissions We Request and Why
- INTERNET: App configuration, catalog updates, ads, analytics, cloud AI features (when enabled), billing verification, and support links
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Check connectivity before online features
- CAMERA: Capture photos for object detection and counting
- AD_ID: Serve and measure ads
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Deliver app notifications (Android 13+), including push messages where enabled
- USE_BIOMETRIC: Optional biometric app lock, if enabled by you
- VIBRATE: Haptic feedback for certain interactions
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Support reliable notification-related delivery where required by the system
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Help restore notification-related system behavior after device restart where applicable
Photo import uses the system image picker. You can deny or revoke optional permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work without the related permission.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Provide object scanning, detection, counting, and result display features
- Save and display scan history, favorites, and recently used models on your device
- Process images on-device and/or via configured cloud AI providers to produce counts and detections
- Fetch app configuration, ad settings, and object catalog updates
- Display advertisements and rewarded experiences (for free users)
- Manage credits and process Premium / in-app purchases through Google Play
- Improve app stability, performance, and user experience
- Detect crashes, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse or fraud
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
5. AI Object Counting Features
- The App may use on-device machine learning (including Google ML Kit) and/or cloud AI providers (such as Google Gemini or OpenAI) depending on configuration.
- Cloud AI features require an internet connection and may transmit image data needed to count objects in the photo you provide.
- Detection results, confidence values, and object labels are estimates and may be inaccurate.
- Do not use the App as the sole basis for safety-critical, medical, legal, financial, or inventory-compliance decisions without independent verification.
6. Data Storage and Security
Most user content such as scan history, result images, favorites, credits balance (as stored by the App), and preferences is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (for example, Room database and SharedPreferences).
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. App configuration and catalog API communications may be encrypted in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Data remains on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App, unless a feature explicitly uses a third-party online service (ads, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, cloud AI, or billing).
7. Data Retention
- Local app data is retained on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall the App.
- Purchase and billing records are retained by Google Play according to Google’s policies.
- Analytics, crash, ad-related, remote configuration, and AI provider data may be retained by third-party providers for limited periods according to their own policies.
8. Data Deletion
You can delete your information by:
- Deleting scan history items inside the App (where available)
- Clearing app storage from Android Settings > Apps > Quantio AI > Storage
- Uninstalling the App from your device
- Contacting us to request assistance with privacy-related deletion requests for data we control
Uninstalling the App removes locally stored app data from your device, subject to Android system behavior and any data retained by third-party services.
9. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal information for money. The App may share limited information with trusted third-party services as needed to operate features you use, including:
- Google Play Services
- Google Play Billing
- Google AdMob
- Meta Audience Network (Facebook Ads), where enabled
- Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging / Remote Config)
- Google ML Kit (on-device detection features)
- Google Gemini and/or OpenAI (cloud AI counting, when enabled by configuration)
- Our app configuration / catalog backend services used to deliver ads settings and object catalogs
These providers may collect and process limited information according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy, and, where applicable, OpenAI’s privacy documentation.
10. Advertising and Analytics
Free users may see banner, native, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads. Ads may be personalized using your advertising ID where permitted by law and your device settings.
You can limit ad personalization on Android through Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Premium / credit-based experiences may reduce or remove ads depending on the active purchase status and app configuration. Analytics and crash reporting help us understand app usage and fix issues. Where possible, analytics data is aggregated or anonymized.
11. In-App Purchases, Credits, and Premium
The App may offer optional credit packs, Premium benefits, and/or related in-app products through Google Play. Payment processing is handled by Google Play, not directly by us. We receive purchase status information to unlock features, restore purchases, and manage credits. Refunds are handled according to Google Play policies.
Free users may also earn limited credits by watching rewarded ads, subject to daily limits configured in the App.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
13. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of information
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of personalized advertising
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
14. GDPR and CCPA Rights
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of certain sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money.
15. International Data Transfers
Information may be processed in countries other than your own through third-party service providers such as Google, Meta, and AI providers. These providers may use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
