1. Introduction
DArt Apps ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, and protected when you use the RemindLink & Bookmark Reminder mobile application (the "App", shown on your device as "RemindLink"), package name: com.remind.link.bookmark.app.
The App lets you save web links, organize them with tags, and schedule reminders to open them later. It does not require an account, and your bookmarks are stored on your device.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, the following categories of information may be collected or processed:
A. Information You Create and Store on Your Device
- Links (URLs) you save and their titles
- Tags you create and assign, pinned status, and whether a bookmark is saved, completed, or moved to Trash
- Reminder dates and times, repeat (recurrence) settings, and snooze choices
- Quick Reminder presets and Time of Day settings
- Page titles and site icon addresses that the App reads from the websites you save (see Section 5)
- App settings such as language, theme, 24-hour time, date format, left-handed mode, Fast Save, Off the List, quiet hours, App lock on/off, and widget theme
- Text you share with the App or select through the text selection menu. This text is processed on your device to find a link and, when present, a reminder time (for example "tomorrow at 5pm"). Only the resulting bookmark is saved.
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to DArt Apps servers.
B. Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, the third-party services listed in Section 9 may automatically collect:
- Device model, operating system version, app version, and language
- Advertising ID (AAID/GAID) where ads are enabled and permitted by your device settings
- IP address and general network information
- Crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data
- App usage events, such as a bookmark being saved, a reminder firing or being snoozed, an import or export (file format and count only), or a bookmark being pinned. These events never include your links, page titles, or tag names.
- Ad interaction data (impressions and clicks) when ads are shown
- Firebase installation identifiers and a push notification token used to deliver app update and tip notifications
- Premium purchase status through Google Play Billing
C. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not require account registration or login
- We do not upload your bookmarks, tags, or reminders to DArt Apps servers
- We do not access your contacts, SMS messages, call logs, location, or browser history
- We do not receive your payment card details (payments are handled by Google Play)
3. Permissions We Request and Why
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Show reminder notifications when a saved link is due, and occasional app update or tip notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time.
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Deliver reminders at the exact time you choose.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Re-schedule your reminders after your device restarts, the App is updated, or the time or time zone changes.
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: Only when you choose, ask Android to stop delaying the App in the background so reminders arrive on time.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Allow background work used by the App (such as reminder catch-up tasks) to run reliably when Android requires it.
- CAMERA (optional): Scan RemindLink QR codes to import bookmarks. The camera is used only while the scan screen is open. Frames are processed on your device; nothing is recorded or uploaded. You can instead pick a saved QR image through the Android photo picker, which gives the App access only to the image you select.
- USE_BIOMETRIC (optional): Unlock the App with fingerprint, face, or your screen lock when you turn on App lock. Biometric data is handled by Android; the App never receives it.
- INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Read page titles and site icons for links you save, show ads, fetch app configuration, deliver push notifications, report crashes and analytics, process purchases, and open the Privacy Policy and Terms pages.
- AD_ID: Serve and measure ads where permitted.
- VIBRATE: Haptic feedback and notification vibration.
The App does not request broad storage access. When you import or export a backup, you choose the file or location through the Android system file picker. The clipboard is read only when you tap the Fast Save Quick Settings tile, and written only when you tap Copy link.
You can deny or revoke optional permissions in your device settings. Some features (reminder alerts, exact timing, QR scanning, or App lock) may not work without the related permission.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Save, organize, search, sort, filter, and display your bookmarks
- Schedule, deliver, repeat, snooze, and re-schedule reminders, and respect the quiet hours you set
- Show page titles and site icons for saved links
- Create and read backup files and QR codes when you ask
- Show the home screen widget with upcoming reminders
- Protect access to the App with App lock when you turn it on
- Fetch app configuration (Firebase Remote Config), including ad settings and update notices
- Display advertisements to users without Premium
- Process optional Premium purchases through Google Play
- Send occasional app update and tip notifications
- Understand aggregate feature usage, fix crashes, and improve stability and performance
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Page Titles, Site Icons, and Opening Links
When you save a link, the App may connect directly from your device to that website to read the page title and site icon. This works like opening the page in a browser: the website receives a standard web request, including your IP address and a user agent that identifies the App. These requests do not go through DArt Apps servers. If the page cannot be reached, the App uses the website's domain name as the title.
When you open a bookmark, it opens in your browser or another app you choose. That website or app handles your visit under its own privacy policy.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your bookmarks, tags, reminders, presets, and settings are stored locally on your device in the App's private storage (a local database and app preferences).
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information processed by the App, including:
- Local, app-private storage for your bookmarks and settings
- Optional App lock using fingerprint, face, or your device screen lock
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) used by the third-party services the App relies on
- Excluding third-party SDK identifiers and caches from device backups
Android device backup: If Android backup is turned on for your device, your bookmarks database and App settings may be included in your Google account's device backup and in device-to-device transfer, so they can be restored on a new phone. This backup is provided and secured by Google under Google's terms. You can turn it off in your device settings.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, screen lock, and any exported backup files secure.
7. Backups, Exports, QR Codes, and Sharing
- Export files (JSON, HTML, or CSV) are created on your device. You choose where to save or share them. JSON backups include your bookmarks, reminders, tags, and presets.
- Imports read only the file you select. Links you have already saved are skipped.
- A bookmark QR code contains the link and may include its title and tags. Anyone who scans the code can read this information.
- When you share an export, QR image, or link through the Android share sheet, the app you pick handles it under its own terms.
Exported files and shared QR codes are outside the App's control. Please store and share them carefully.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your bookmarks, tags, or reminders with anyone.
Limited technical information (described in Section 2B) is processed by trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the App, only for the purposes described in this Policy: advertising, analytics, crash reporting, app configuration, push notifications, and billing. We may also disclose information if required by law.
9. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Play Services
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Meta Audience Network (advertising)
- Firebase Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase Remote Config
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
- Google ML Kit Barcode Scanning (on-device QR code reading)
- Google Play Billing
- Google Play In-App Review
These services process information according to their own privacy policies, including:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Firebase privacy and security: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Meta Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
10. Advertising and Analytics
The App may show banner, native, interstitial, rewarded, and app open ads when ads are enabled and you do not have Premium. Advertising partners may use your advertising ID and device information to deliver, limit, and measure ads, and may show personalized ads subject to your device settings and applicable law. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (for example Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
Analytics and crash reporting help us understand how features are used in aggregate and fix problems. Analytics events do not include your links, page titles, or tag names.
11. Notifications
Reminder notifications are created on your device from the reminders you set. Notification actions (Open, Done, and Snooze) run on your device.
The App may also receive occasional app update or tip notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging. Replies typed into these notifications stay on your device and are not sent to us. You can turn off notifications in your device settings.
12. Premium Purchases
The App may offer optional Premium subscriptions (weekly, monthly, or yearly) through Google Play to remove ads. Payment, billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Google Play. The App checks your subscription status through Google Play Billing and stores it on your device. We do not receive your payment card details.
13. Data Retention and Deletion
Your bookmarks, reminders, tags, presets, and settings stay on your device until you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App.
When you delete a bookmark in the App, or when Off the List moves it to Trash, the bookmark is removed from your lists and its reminder is cancelled, but a copy stays in the App's local storage on your device. To remove all bookmark data permanently, clear the App's storage or uninstall the App.
You can delete or reduce data by:
- Deleting bookmarks, reminders, tags, or presets in the App
- Clearing the App's storage in Android settings (removes all App data permanently)
- Uninstalling the App (removes all App data permanently)
- Deleting any export files you saved or shared
- Removing the App's data from your Google account backup in your device or Google account settings
- Resetting your advertising ID in your device settings
Technical information processed by third-party services is retained according to those providers' policies. Because we do not keep your bookmarks on our servers, we cannot restore them for you; keep a backup file if you need one. If you need help with a privacy request, contact us.
14. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
15. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your region, you may have the right to:
- Access, export, or delete the bookmarks and settings stored in the App (using Backup & Tools, in-app delete, or by clearing app storage)
- Turn off notifications
- Opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings
- Withdraw optional permissions at any time
- Contact us regarding privacy concerns
16. GDPR & CCPA Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the CCPA, or similar laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object to processing, and withdraw consent where applicable. We do not sell personal information as defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
17. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a security incident affecting information we control, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate harm, and notify affected users or regulators where required by law.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page along with the revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
